ACTIVITIES

How to spend active holidays in Zgornjesavska valley? We suggest you some activities, which are available to you in our village and in our vicinity. At the end of the page there are also some ideas for some interesting trips. 

Mountain hiking 
The surrounding countryside is ideal for mountain hiking. You can enjoy trips to the nature, in the heart of mountain ranges Julian Alps and Karavanke.  Take a look at our suggestions at the end of the page.

Cycling and inline skating 
In our vicinity, there is a 30 km long cycling track (from Mojstrana to Rateče), appropriate for cycling and inline skating. With bicycle it is possible to continue the way to Belopeška lakes or to Tarvisio in Italy. You can also go cycling to the mountain pass Vršič or all over Karavanke.

Wellness and swimming in the lake 
In Gozd Martuljek there is a new hotel Špik with Wellness programme (swimming pools, jacuzzi, sauna). We also suggest you to visit Aqua centre Larix (swimming pools and sauna).  It is possible to swim in the lakes Blejsko jezero and Bohinjsko jezero.

Summer sleighing on »Furious Pehta« and toboggan »Bedančeva drča« 
Sleighing in the summer season - a little bit strange, isn’t it? It is worth trying! There is also a 70 m long toboggan slide, for adventurers only! Recommended!

Golf 
There is a golf field situated between Kranjska Gora and Gozd Martuljek.

Tennis 
It is possible to play tennis near hotels Lek and Kompas in Kranjska Gora.

Riding 
For horse lovers there are two riding schools in the vicinity – Perun in Lipce and Rasigner in Podkoren.

Bike park 
A bike park (for the boldest only) is situated near Vitranc, on the I. ski-slope in Kranjska Gora.

Kekec land 
On your holidays your children should be entertained too. At some point in their lifetime they have to visit Kekec land. Kekec is a Slovenian fairy-tale hero, coming from Kranjska Gora. Only the Bedanc bus can bring you to Kekec land, where children meet Kekec, Mojca, Pehta, Kosobrin and Bedanc and hear the story.

Puck’s land 
Pucks are among us. And children know that. Now they are able to meet them in Puck’s land in Gozd Martuljek.

Rafting 
Rafting is possible on the rivers Sava and Soča, and it is organized by Julijana agency. 

Skiing (+ night skiing) 
For children and beginners we suggest ski slopes Gozd Martuljek or Podkoren, for good skiers ski slopes in Kranjska Gora, for professionals ski slope Poligon in Podkoren, where an annual world cup skiing competition for men is hosted. Night skiing it is possible in Kranjska Gora every day between 7 and 10 p.m., except Mondays.

Boarding halfpipe 
There is a new boarding halfpipe in Kranjska Gora near ski slope Kekec.

Sleighing 
In Gozd Martuljek there is a sledge trail, close to our apartment. Another sledge trail is in Kranjska Gora near boarding halfpipe. Rent-a-sledge is offered by Julijana turist agency.

Crosscountry skiing 
There are very well prepared ski trails in Gozd Martuljek, Kranjska Gora and Rateče (Planica) as well.

Skating 
In winter you can go ice-skating on the skating-rink in Kranjska Gora.
